Description
Temporary visitor's driver's licenses. Allows the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue a temporary visitor's driver's license to an applicant who is unable to present valid documentary evidence of legal permanent residency in the United States or conditional resident alien status, if certain requirements are met. Comments
The ACLU of VA supports this bill. Currently Sec 46.2-328.1 of the Code of VA denies many immigrants and visa holders from attaining a VA driver's license. Virginia should extend driving privileges to all immigrants that are not unlawfully in the country.
