Description

Higher education; student mental health policies. Specifies that the contact person designated by a memorandum of understanding between a public four-year institution of higher education and a mental health care provider to be notified when a student is involuntarily committed, or when a student is discharged from a facility and consents to such notification, shall be notified only to the extent allowable under state and federal privacy laws. WHAT THIS IS IS A TECHNICAL CORRECTION TO DELETE WORDS THAT PROVIDES WHERE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN A COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD AND MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY, PROVIDES THAT THE MEMORANDUM SHALL DESIGNATE A CONTACT PERSON TO BE NOTIFIED TO THE EXTENT AUTHORIZED BY STATE AND FEDERAL PRIVACY LAWS WHEN A STUDENT IS INVOLUNTARILY COMMITTED AND THE LANGUAGE INSERTS THAT SUCH NOTIFICATION INADVERTENTLY REMAINED AND THE HOUSE DELETED THAT PROVE VISION TO MAKE IT CORRECTS WITH WITH THAT UNDERSTANDING, MR. PRESIDENT, I RENEW MY MOTION TO CONCUR IN THE HOUSE AMENDMENT.
