Institutions of higher education; required agreements with law enforcement. Requires all mutual aid agreements and memoranda of understanding required between public or private institutions of higher education and other law-enforcement agencies to specify (i) the law-enforcement agency that has primary responsibility for the investigation and (ii) the procedure for sharing information. SPEAKER, SENATE BILL 83 REQUIRES ALL MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS REQUIRED BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS PRIOR TO EDUCATION AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO SPECIFY THE PROCEED YOUR FOR SHARING INFORMATION. THE AMENDMENT BASICALLY REMOVES THE REQUIREMENT THAT MOU SPECIFY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AS A PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY THAT HAS THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INVESTIGATION.
