HEARD IN COMMITTEE NOT THIS YEAR BUT IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR REALLY WAS SOME OF THE MOST COMPELLING AND EMOTIONAL TESTIMONY I HAVE EVER HEARD, AND THERE WAS A PERSON WHO CAME FROM THE FAUQUIER SHERIFF'S OFFICE WHO HAD BEEN A VICTIM'S ADVOCATE, AS WELL AS A VICTIM WHO FOR 26 YEARS WAS BEATEN AND ABUSED, MULTIPLE TIMES. HER THEN HUSBAND ATTEMPTED TO KILL HER WITH A MACHETE, WITH A GUN, AND SHE NEVER HAD ANY OPPORTUNITY TO PROTECT HERSELF, AND SHE IS LIKE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE FOR WHOM HER LIFE IS SO CLOSELY MONITORED, WHO IS SO ABUSED, THAT HER OPPORTUNITY TO EVER HAVE A CHANCE TO PROTECT HERSELF IS ZERO, ZIP. AND HER OPPORTUNITY TO EVER EVEN HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO AND OBTAIN A CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT IS ZERO. SO IT IS THE CASE, AND THIS IS MANAGER THAT MOST PEOPLE OVERLOOK, IT IS THE CASE THAT SOMEONE IN HER POSITION, OR ANYONE'S POSITION, WHO IS LAWFULLY ALLOWED TO CARRY A WEAPON, CAN OPEN CARRY, BUT IN THE CASE OF SOMEONE LIKE THIS, WHO IS A VICTIM, WHO DOESN'T WISH TO OPEN CARRY, WHO FINDS THAT INFLAMMATORY, OR WHO IS FEARFUL, BUT CAN'T, BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT, SLIP IT
