Description

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Virginia State University; purpose and courses of study.Provides that in order to promote the liberal and practical education of the industrial classes in the several pursuits and professions in life and to fulfill the purposes of the federal Morrill Land-Grant Acts of 1862 and 1890, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Virginia State University shall include agriculture, business, education, engineering, the liberal arts and sciences, and military science and embrace and prioritize such courses of study as relate to agriculture and the mechanic arts without excluding other scientific and classical studies and including military tactics.
