Description

Exemptions and requirements for privately owned emergency vehicles. Includes privately owned vehicles operated by an operational officer of a professional or volunteer fire department in the definition of "emergency vehicle" for the purpose of exempting such vehicles from certain driving regulations when traveling in response to a fire alarm or other emergency call. The bill eliminates the current limit of no more than two flashing or steady-burning red or red and white warning lights on one vehicle owned by a member of a fire department, volunteer fire company, or volunteer EMS agency or a police chaplain.
