Description
Investment of Public Funds Act; investment of funds in the Virginia Investment Pool Trust Fund. Authorizes public officers, municipal corporations, and other political subdivisions to invest any or all of the moneys belonging to them or within their control, other than sinking funds, in the Virginia Investment Pool Trust Fund administered by the Virginia Local Government Finance Corporation, provided that such investments comply with the requirements of the Investment of Public Funds Act ( 2.2-4500 et seq.) applicable to municipal corporations and other political subdivisions. Sen. John Edwards (D-Roanoke): THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. IF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WANTS TO ENFORCE THEIMMIGRATION LAWS WHY DON'T THEY PUT UP THE MONEY AND DO IT? REFORM THE IMMIGRATION LAWS SITTING IN CONGRESS FOR HOW MANY YEARS NOW AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. THE ISSUE IS STRICTLY AN ISSUE AND THE EXCLUSIVELY AN ISSUE OF FEDERAL LAW. THE OTHER PROBLEM HERE IT SAYS THE LOCALITY THAT IS A SANCTUARY CITY. IF YOU COULD EVER DEFINE IT WITH ANY SPECIFICITY WOULD BE LIBEL FOR THE WRONGFUL ACTS OF AN ILLEGAL ALIEN? HOW WOULD YOU ENFORCE THAT? WHERE IS THE PROXIMATE CAUSE. I GUESS THEY MEAN UNDOCUMENTED PERSON IN THE CITY THAT COMMITS A WRONG, MAYBE INJURES SOMEBODY AND THE CITY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. I'M SHOCKED THAT THE CITIES AND
