Description

Careless driving; cause of injury to vulnerable road user; penalty. Provides that a person who operates a motor vehicle in a careless or distracted manner and causes serious bodily injury to a pedestrian or person riding a bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric bicycle, wheel chair or wheel chair conveyance, skateboard, skates, foot-scooter, animal, or animal-drawn vehicle is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. Upon conviction of such offense, the court may suspend the person's driver's license for a period of not more than six months. Read the Bill »
