Magistrates; additional compensation. Allows localities to provide additional compensation to magistrates by removing language that prohibited such funding if such additional compensation was not already provided prior to June 30, 2008. The bill also removes language that prevents localities from increasing the total amount of additional compensation provided after June 30, 2008. The bill does not change the provision that the total amount of such additional compensation by localities may not exceed 50 percent of the amount paid by the Commonwealth to magistrates.
