Description

Combined sewer overflow system; notice of discharge. Requires the owner or operator of any combined sewer overflow (CSO) system to immediately report any discharge of untreated or partially treated sewage to the Department of Environmental Quality (the Department) and the local health department and, as soon as possible, to notify the public and any adjoining locality that may be affected. The bill requires the Department to expeditiously post on its website information reported to it regarding such CSO discharges and to prepare an annual report on CSO discharges. The bill directs the State Water Control Board to promulgate regulations to carry out the provisions of the bill. Read the Bill »
