Description
Control of firearms in local government buildings; waiver of sovereign immunity. Provides that any locality that adopts an ordinance or policy that generally prohibits firearms, ammunition, or components or combination thereof in any building owned or used by such locality for governmental purposes shall waive its sovereign immunity protection with regard to any civil claim for damages brought by an individual who claims his injuries are the result, at least in part, of such ordinance or policy. In such instance, a locality will be subject to an ordinary negligence standard for its invitees. Read the Bill »
