Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 52-9.3 as follows:

§ 52-9.3. Executive Protection Unit; possession of firearms.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a state police officer serving on the Executive Protection Unit may possess a firearm only to the extent permitted by law for a civilian.
