Capital murder of a person in a school setting; penalty. Provides that the willful, deliberate, and premeditated killing of any person by another when such person is upon the property of any child day center, any public, private, or religious preschool, elementary school, middle school, or high school, or any institution of higher education is punishable as capital murder, a Class 1 felony. The bill also provides that any person convicted of such offense shall be sentenced to no less than a mandatory minimum term of confinement for life. Read the Bill »
