AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE

A BILL to allow certain nurse practitioners to continue to practice without a practice agreement.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That, notwithstanding the provisions of § 54.1-2957 of the Code of Virginia, any person practicing as a nurse practitioner without a written or electronic practice agreement with a patient care team physician in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1 of the Acts of Assembly of 2021, Special Session I, prior to July 1, 2022, may continue to practice without such practice agreement, provided that such person has submitted the attestation and fee required by subsection I of § 54.1-2957 of the Code of Virginia to the Boards of Medicine and Nursing by July 1, 2022.
