Description
Health insurance; provider contracts; audits. Prohibits a health insurance carrier, in conducting an audit of a provider, from reviewing any claim that was paid more than six months prior to the date of the audit. The bill prohibits a carrier from seeking recoupment from a provider until the time period for filing an appeal to an initial audit report has passed or until the appeals process has been exhausted, whichever is later.
